FAMILY FUN NIGHT!
Save the date! Centennial’s traditional year-end celebration, Family Fun Night, is coming up next month on Friday, May 4th, from 6-8 p.m. Whether this will be your family’s first time to attend this special event or you have been coming for years, we look forward to enjoying Family Fun Night with you! So, what can you expect at this year’s event? Here’s a sneak peek:
- Games and Activities – This year, we will have a bounce house and an inflatable obstacle course, balloon twisters, a photo booth, face painters, and numerous carnival games like a ring toss and a candy bar walk. There’s even a good chance that our local firefighters will make a stop at Centennial to show off their fire truck!
- Food – Blackjack Pizza, hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, cotton candy, cold treats from Hau’oki Shave Ice, and more!
- Prize Drawings – Wonderful local businesses are showing their support for Centennial by providing donations of gift cards and products that families will have the opportunity to win at the event with the purchase of tickets for the various prize drawings. Additionally, several staff members are donating special experiences for students to enjoy as prizes. One big prize drawing you will want to make sure to participate in is the chance to win the naming rights to our new Husky mascot!
Information about pre-purchasing wristbands (for games/activities) and tickets (for food and prize drawings) will be heading home later this month, so keep your eyes open for more information about this fun family experience that you will not want to miss!
Volunteer: Be a Memory Maker!
In order to make magical memories together at our upcoming Family Fun Night event, we are asking you to consider sharing some of your time to bring a smile to the faces of your fellow Husky families. Between serving food, running games and activities, and various other needs, there are plenty of opportunities to help out. As an added perk, your volunteer efforts will be rewarded with 5 bonus prize drawing tickets to be used at Family Fun Night. Be on the lookout for online sign ups so that you can take advantage of this fun way to serve and also possibly win a great prize! Let’s make some fun memories together!
“UP!” Staff Appreciation Week: May 7-11
Listen UP! We are getting ready for a special week to lift UP our very special teachers and staff members at Centennial Elementary. As we celebrate these amazing professionals during Staff Appreciation week, we are looking to partner UP with families to provide special meals and treats throughout that week. A Sign-Up Genius link will be heading your way very soon to request various simple food donations that will help brighten UP their days!
Information will also be heading home soon in Friday Folders about ways our students can show their appreciation for our incredible teachers and staff during this special week-long celebration.
As a friendly reminder, staff favorites, from snacks to go-to places to shop, can be found on our PTO website, www.ptocentennial.com/our-staff/staff-favorites.
Upcoming PTO Meetings
Our “Grants in Action” speaker series continues this month on April 10th with our special guests, Ms. Adams (1st grade) and Ms. Tucker (3rd grade), presenting how PTO grant money is being used to positively impact their classrooms. Throughout this series, we invite you to come and get a taste of all of the great teaching and learning going on at our school.
Also, keep in mind that our May 8th meeting will bring an opportunity to elect new PTO board members. If you have an interest in possibly serving on the board, please reach out to us at email@example.com to ask any questions or receive more information. Thank you for considering this special service opportunity.
As a reminder, our general meetings take place in the Innovation Lab, and free childcare is provided for ages 3 and up in the library. We start at 6:30 p.m. and strive to keep our meetings only an hour in length. We look forward to seeing you there!
Ongoing Fundraising Opportunities
Box Tops for Education – Worth 10 cents each!
Please continue to send in your Box Tops for the remainder of the year. Information about our last contest for the school year will be heading your way soon. Thank you for your amazing support of this easy and important way to raise money for our school!
King Soopers Reloadable Gift Cards
If you are a regular King Soopers shopper, you need to make sure that you have this special card linked to our school. This card is different from, but can easily be used in conjunction with, the King Soopers savings card provided by the store. It is a FREE gift from the PTO that comes preloaded with $2.50 just to get you started. All we ask is that you use it every time you shop at King Soopers. The process to use it is very easy, and, for every purchase made using the card, our school receives 5% back! This is adding up to a great deal of money coming back to our school this year, simply by Husky families buying groceries and gas as they normally do. If you need more information or you need to get your hands on one of these cards, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Longmont Dairy Milk Caps – Worth 5 cents each!
Restaurant Spirit Events:
Thanks to the incredible participation of our Husky families, our restaurant spirit nights have been a huge success this year! We look forward to sharing with you how much we were able to raise from our March spirit night at Panera. These funds enable us to go above and beyond in providing support to our school, and we thank you so very much for taking part in these special nights!
