October Family Paw Print
We greatly appreciate everyone who attended our September and October PTO General Meetings! We had incredible turnouts, and the presence and voices of our Husky parents were important keys to the success both nights. It is our hope that these meetings will not only be informative, but also a means to cultivate a sense of community at Centennial. In addition to always providing childcare for children ages 3 and up, all of our meetings include special guest speakers who focus on topics impacting our students and families. As an added incentive to come, the class with the highest number of adults in attendance at each meeting will be awarded a special PTO Husky Pup that will remain proudly in that classroom until the next meeting. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the library. We look forward to seeing you there!
Parent-Teacher Conference Meals
One of the biggest thanks we consistently receive from our staff is when our PTO families provide meals for them during the weeks of Fall and Spring Conferences. We are thrilled that the online sign-up is almost full, but we still have some areas where we could use your support with providing food as well as helping with set up and clean up. If you have not already done so, please consider signing up to bring something to help compliment the dinners and breakfast provided to our faculty next week. To sign up to bring something for the October conferences, please check out the Sign-Up Genius link at www.tinyurl.com/FallConferenceMealSignUps
Many school personnel at Centennial and all around the world spend a great deal of their own money on classroom supplies that benefit their students. Often, they do it out of necessity, but also because they love what they do, and they want the very best for the children whose lives they impact every day. The PTO has asked all of the Husky teachers and staff members to provide parents and families with ideas about what kinds of things they need and/or would like to have for their classrooms. These wishes will be displayed in the main hall of the school during the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences. As you are visiting the school next week to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s), please consider helping to fulfill one or more of these simple wishes. Each request will be written on a star-shaped sticky note for you to take home as a reminder to bring that item to your child(ren)’s teacher(s). Small investments on your part in things like disinfecting wipes, clipboards, markers, etc. can be a huge help to our teachers and staff. Thank you for considering their requests!
Annual Fall Fundraiser
Thank you for your amazing support of our fall fundraiser! Your incredible participation and excitement about this opportunity to raise much-needed funds for our school made a big difference. While we do not know our final total yet, we are hopeful that we have reached and possibly even exceeded our initial goal of $25,000. We are excited for what this will mean for our school, and we will keep you posted when we find out our earnings.
The big Limo Ride and Pizza Party that a record number of our students will get to enjoy as a well-earned prize for the fundraiser will take place on Thursday, October 19th. That is also the day that all fundraising products and prizes must be picked up in the gym between 3-5 p.m. Details about all of this will be provided as the day draws closer.
THANK YOU to our amazing partners at Chick-fil-A in Longmont for providing such an amazing, delicious meal for everyone who attended our September PTO Meeting!
Ongoing Fundraising Opportunities
Box Tops for Education – Worth 10 cents each! Amazing! Our Back-to-School Box Tops contest brought in over $500 for our school! Five names were drawn from all of the students who participated, and the lucky winners received Dairy Queen gift cards to enjoy. More contests are on the horizon, so please keep clipping and collecting those Box Tops all year long.
Longmont Dairy Milk Caps – Worth 5 cents each! Remember to keep bringing in clean, dry milk caps from Longmont Dairy glass bottles. There is a designated collection container at the entrance of the school. Thank you for helping us collect these milk caps for “Moolah!”
King Soopers Reloadable Gift Cards – For every purchase you make using the card, our school receives 5% back! Purchasing groceries and gas are just a part of life, so we are encouraging all Husky families to use a Centennial PTO King Soopers Reloadable Gift Card. This card is separate from but can be used in conjunction with your regular store savings card. When used, the store donates 5% of your bill back to us every time! There is huge potential for what this can mean to our school! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive more information about how you can get your own FREE family card.
Restaurant Spirit Events
Amazing! Our first restaurant spirit event brought in a donation of $408 to our school! We are so thankful for our wonderful partners at Blackjack Pizza and all of our Husky families who made this day so successful!
Our next spirit event will take place at the Firestone McDonald’s (5950 Firestone Blvd.) on October 25th from 4-8 p.m. 15% of sales during this timeframe, via both the drive-thru and in the restaurant will come back to our school. Additionally, delicious hot apple pies will be sold inside for a suggested donation of $1 each, and all of the money from the apple pie purchases will also come back to support our school.
Special Note: As a means to help provide flexible seating options and focus tools for our students at Centennial, the PTO is dedicating all money raised during this event to provide for these needs.
You have to eat anyway, so this is a great opportunity to let someone else cook dinner, enjoy the company of fellow Husky families, and help us raise money for our school!
